Christian Maxwell Responds to Chicago Teachers Union's Order of Protection Against Chicago Flips Red

A Call for Educational Freedom and Accountability

April 9, 2026

Chicago, IL – In an unprecedented move, the Chicago Teachers Union (CTU) has filed an order of protection against the grassroots organization Chicago Flips Red, seeking to prevent them from protesting at the union's headquarters. As a candidate for Congress in Illinois’ First District, I find this action deeply concerning and emblematic of the oppressive tactics that have become all too common in our educational system. As a mother, I care deeply about the education our children receive. When organizations like the CTU take such steps to silence dissenting voices, they create an environment that stifles discussion and accountability. The actions of the CTU reflect an inherent fear of transparency and public scrutiny, especially around issues affecting our children's future. We must stand against this kind of tyranny and demand that our education system be focused on the needs of students and families, rather than the self-interests of union leaders. The citizens of South Chicago deserve a voice in the educational process, and it is our duty to ensure that their voices are not silenced by the very institutions that claim to advocate for their interests. As I campaign for Congress, I am committed to fighting for educational reform that prioritizes our children’s success, promotes accountability in our schools, and fosters an environment where parents, teachers, and community members can freely express their opinions without fear of retribution. It’s time to put parents back in the driver’s seat and restore control to the local community. I urge my fellow citizens to stand with me and demand a fair and transparent educational system that serves our children, not political agendas. Together, we can neutralize the influence of the Chicago Teachers Union and bring about positive change for families across our district.

Statement from Christian Maxwell on the Tragic Death of Loyola Student Sheridan Gorman

March 25, 2026

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Statement from Christian Maxwell on the Tragic Death of Loyola Student Sheridan Gorman Chicago, IL — Several days after the tragic death of 18-year-old Loyola University student Sheridan Gorman on March 19th, congressional candidate Christian Maxwell released the following statement: “Our city is still grieving the loss of Sheridan Gorman — a young woman whose life was just beginning and was taken far too soon. My heart is with her family, her friends, and the entire Loyola community during this incredibly painful time. But as the initial shock begins to settle, we have a responsibility to confront what this tragedy represents. A student walking near her campus should feel safe. Families should feel confident sending their children to school in Chicago. That basic expectation is being questioned far too often. This is not an isolated concern. Across Chicago — including many neighborhoods on the South Side — families have been living with persistent violence and asking for stronger, more consistent public safety measures for years. What happened on March 19th has brought that reality into sharper focus for the entire city. We need leadership that treats public safety as a non-negotiable priority. That means supporting law enforcement, ensuring real accountability for violent acts, and strengthening coordination across all levels of government to prevent harm before it happens. It also means being honest about the tools available to protect our communities. When appropriate, coordination with federal agencies like U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement should be part of a comprehensive public safety approach — not dismissed outright. Chicago families are not asking for politics — they are asking for protection. Sheridan deserved to feel safe. Every student does. And we owe it to her, and to every family in this city, to ensure that tragedies like this are not repeated.”

Christian Maxwell Launches 'Dilute The Blue' Campaign to Empower Illinois Voters

New initiative encourages Illinoisans to prioritize their true interests over partisan loyalty.

December 8, 2025

CHICAGO, IL – Christian Maxwell, a Republican candidate for Congress in Illinois’ 1st District, announced today the launch of her 'Dilute The Blue' campaign, aimed at encouraging voters across Illinois to re-evaluate their political commitments and prioritize their own needs over blind loyalty to the Democratic Party. This initiative comes in response to the ongoing single-party rule in Illinois, which has resulted in alarming statistics regarding education, job growth, and overall quality of life for residents. The 'Dilute The Blue' campaign features a comprehensive digital hub that highlights the pressing issues facing Illinoisans, including education deficiencies, job stagnation, limited opportunities, and housing struggles – all of which underscore the failures of years of Democratic governance. The online platform provides users with critical data and rankings that paint a stark picture of the current state of affairs, empowering voters to make informed decisions based on their realities rather than performative support. "Our campaign is about helping citizens recognize that their vote is their voice," Maxwell stated. "It’s time to dilute the grip of single-party rule and replace it with a government that truly reflects the needs and desires of its constituents. By signing our pledge, voters take a stand for their future and can display their commitment through personalized graphics that amplify their voices." As a mother, business owner, and advocate for public safety and economic growth, Maxwell is committed to advocating for common-sense solutions that benefit families in South Chicago and beyond.
